• Donors can make immediate gifts of cash, stock, or equipment or make planned gifts of life insurance or through a charitable trusts or bequest / will. Gifts can be made in memory of or in honor of someone. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Gifts of Stock:
Making a gift of stock allows you to avoid paying capital gains taxes on the  increase in the value of your stock while at the same time you receive a tax deduction for the full value of the stock on the date of your gift. Please talk to your tax advisor for precise details. If you are interested in making a gift of stock to EnCompass please contact Lisa Record at 585-210-4661 or lrecord@e2ny.org.
 
Gifts of Life Insurance:
By naming EnCompass as the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy you no longer need, you can take a tax deduction of the cash value of the policy at the time of the gift (for insurance policies with a cash value). If your policy still requires annual premium payments and you continue to make the payment – your payment becomes a tax-deductible gift also. Please talk to your insurance agent for complete details.
 
Bequests:
Please remember EnCompass when you are making your estate plans. Your attorney can assist you in making a legacy for the future by simply adding an appendix to your will. Please notify our Development Office if you do name EnCompass in your will so that we can recognize you. 

Here is sample language to use in your will:
I here by bequeath <list a specific dollar amount or include a percentage of your estate> to EnCompass: Resources for Learning in Rochester, NY for <you may list a specific fund or purpose for your gift or make an unrestricted gift>.

Life Income Gifts:
You can create a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity. With a major gift of this type you and/or another beneficiary receive annual income from the trust (which varies based on the type of trust you create and the trust’s performance). The amount of your gift to establish the trust would be tax deductible the date the trust was created. EnCompass would receive the remainder of the trust upon the death of all beneficiaries. Please speak to your attorney and tax advisor about the tax benefits of making a life income gift.

Creating EnCompass
As a new organization, EnCompass relies on the investments of donors who believe in our mission: to develop and provide innovative educational services to students who struggle to learn and to the families, schools and institutions that support them. Donors who help us create EnCompass make it possible for us to get started and get the word out to the community about our services.
 
Creating Access
Donors make it possible for EnCompass to offer services on a sliding fee scale so that all struggling learners can find success, regardless of their ability to pay.

Creating Solutions
Donors make it possible for EnCompass' team of learning specialists and our network of community resources to work together to develop programs for struggling learners, their families and the professionals who work with them.

Special Projects and Restricted Donations
Sometimes a donor wishes to make gift service – program a specific school neighborhood for example. Some donors have their own about projects they are interested in funding. 

In-kind Gifts
Sometimes donors have items to donate that would be useful at EnCompass such as office furniture or classroom supplies. If you or your business are interested in making an in-kind donation, please contact us.
